Mildred A. Slagle, age 73, of Richeyville, PA died at 4:00pm Sunday December 21, 2003 in the Washington Hospital. She was born February 28, 1930 in Richeyville a daughter of Joseph and Katherine Kostelnik Nivert. Mrs. Slagle was a 1948 graduate of Centerville High School. She was a member of St. Agnes R.C.Church, Richeyville, a Charter Member of the C.D.of A. Court 1909, St. Anne DeBeaupre, Richeyville, AARP, First Catholic Slovak Union, and the California Historical Society Mrs. Slagle was one of the founding members of the Beth-Center Kickoff Club. She enjoyed attending sporting events of both her children and grandchildren. On May 7, 1949 she married Dallas H. Slagle who died December 23, 1999. She and her husband established Slagles Inc. in Washington, PA in 1976. She continued to work in the family business until her retirement in 1992. Surviving is 2 sons - Dennis Slagle and his wife Lynn of Fredericktown and Dallas J. Slagle and his wife Carol of Pataskala, OH; 5 Grandchildren - Amanda Benninghoff, Sarah, Dallas B., Samantha, and Davis Slagle; 1 Great Granddaughter - Riley Benninghoff; 1 Brother - Frank J. Nivert of Tampa, FL; 1 Sister - Dorothy Pavliga of Youngstown, OH. Deceased in addition to her husband is 4 Brothers - Michael, Joseph, Martin and Albert Nivert; 3 Sisters - Helen Drop, Bertha Wilson, and Catherine Tokash.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9pm Monday and 2 to 9pm Tuesday in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main St. Beallsville, PA where a Blessing Service will be held at 9:30am Wednesday December 24, 2003 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in the St. Agnes R.C.Church, Richeyville, PA with Rev. Francis Jurewicz as Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Beallsville Cemetery, Beallsville. Contributions may be made to The Washington Hospital Hospice Care, 155 Wilson Ave. Washington, PA 15301. A Rosary will be held at 3:00pm Tuesday in the funeral home.
